Checking for outages

Testing internet speed


Here are a few different options to accurately test your internet speed.


During a hardwired test, you’ll be able to see the speeds being delivered to your home. Through the Plume App, you’ll see the speeds your gateway is receiving. Both options should show speeds at, or very close to, your plan speed.


Option 1: Hardwired speed test.                                           

  1. Connect a device such as a laptop, PC, or tablet directly into your gateway with an ethernet cable.
  2. Turn on Airplane mode on the device, open a browser, and go to speedtest.net.
  3. Click “GO” to start the speed test. 


Option 2: Plume App speed test.

  1. Open the Plume Home WiFi app on your smartphone.
  2. On the home page, tap the "check speed" button.
