How do I set parental controls on my network?
Setting up parental controls for your home network has never been easier. With welo and the Plume Home app, you can manage screen time and filter content for every member of your family from a single app.
Here is a step-by-step guide to setting up and customizing your parental controls.
Step 1: Create a Person Profile
Parental controls in the Plume app work best when assigned to a specific person. This ensures that the rules you set apply to every device that person uses (tablet, phone, gaming console).
- Open the Plume Home app.
- Tap the Profiles tab at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the + button in the top right corner and select Create a Person.
- Enter their name and add a photo (optional).
- You can now set controls for:
- Content filtering level (see descriptions of each level within)
- Ad-blocking
- Security (online defense)
- Advanced IoT settings
- When finished, click "Add."
Another thing: You can also assign devices to that person by clicking the "Assign Devices" button.
Step 2: Manage Screen Time (Internet Freeze)
You can schedule exactly when the internet should "turn off" for a specific person, such as during school hours or at bedtime.
- Scroll to the person’s profile.
- Tap the **Timeout **button under their profile.
- Choose a preset time (like 30 minutes, 1 hour, etc.), choose "Indefinite" to block all access until removed, or select “Custom" to set your own parameters.
- Select the days of the week and the start/end times, then tap Save.
