# What internet speed do I need?

Choosing an internet plan shouldn’t feel like a pop quiz. You don’t need to memorize Mbps definitions or guess how many “internet points” Netflix uses per hour. You just need a speed that fits how you actually live online.
At welo, we keep things simple. Here’s how to figure out which speed is right for you—and when it’s worth going faster.

### First: What does internet speed actually mean?

Internet speed is measured in **megabits per second (Mbps)**.

**Download speed** affects streaming, scrolling, gaming, and loading websites.

**Upload speed** affects video calls, posting content, cloud backups, and sending files.

When you see a figure like “(300/50 Mbps),” the first number (300) is the download speed, the second (50) is the upload speed.

All of our plans come with a fast upload speed of 50 Mbps, which means smoother Zoom calls, clearer FaceTimes, and less “sorry, you froze.”

* Households with 3–5 connected devices in constant use

**Good fit if:**
