# Can I get help from welo chat support if I’m using my own modem?

Yes. But not totally yes.

When you’re setting up your own modem and getting connected to the welo network, our chat support team can help make sure everything’s properly connected on our side. And if things get weird along the way, we’ll do our best to help sort it out remotely.

But, keep in mind that our 24/7 tech support for equipment only applies to WiFi Gateways and WiFi Extenders rented from welo. If you’re using your own equipment, internal hardware issues, firmware updates, and security vulnerabilities are all DIY territory.
